Safeguarding the Past – Shaping the Future

For over fifty years the Civic Society has tried to encourage a sense of civic pride and public interest in the good appearance of our town, its buildings and open spaces. This has required working in partnership with individuals such as home owners and other organisations including the local councils’ planning and environment departments. We have brought together a panel of experts and people with experience of navigating planning regulations or who are custodians of listed buildings to discuss the challenges of conservation.
